The hot air balloon doesn’t make you dizzy. I promise! I’m a pilot myself and I have vertigo but up there I don’t. That’s a funny thing but the fact the basket doesn’t move, not having a reference from the basket to the ground, moving with air and the safety feeling you have, all this together, makes vertigo an anecdotal thing.
-
The balloon doesn’t make you sick, as it travels with the wind and there is no sudden move. If you close your eyes you won’t know whether you are steady on the ground or actually flying!
-
It is not colder on the balloon than it is on the ground that same day and the reason is because the balloon travels at the same speed as the wind. Another main reason is that the burners on the basket give off a lot of calories.
-
A curiosity that most people are unaware of is the fact the balloon cannot be directed. It moves with the wind. Depending on the wind direction that day, the balloon flies to one place or another. Thus, how can we go back to the starting point? A four-wheel drive follows our route by radio and on landing we deflate the balloon and set off for breakfast.
-
People of all ages and with good health conditions can go on a balloon. The only people who cannot go up are pregnant women (obviously for safety reasons) and children under 5 years old (not because of safety but because they are fed up with the whole thing 10 minutes later!).
- Some advice:
- -It is recommended to wear comfortable clothes.
- -It is recommended to wear a cap.
- -It is recommended to wear sport footwear or shoes which are comfortable enough as most of the times we land on ripped fields, wasted land...
